Gold Path
The CDI Gold Path is the nonprofit arm of Commercial Drivers Institute, designed to expand access to CDL training and create structured pathways into the commercial driving industry. Through a combination of scholarship support, mentorship, and guided program progression, CDI Gold Path works to remove barriers and provide individuals with the resources needed to begin and advance within the field.
This program is built to support learners at multiple stages, including those entering the industry for the first time, individuals seeking a structured transition into commercial driving, and those reentering society who require access to training and continued support. Participants are provided with access to CDI’s knowledge-based training programs, technology resources to support learning and communication, and entry into a monitored mentorship environment designed to reinforce accountability and professional growth.
Through the CDI Hub, learners gain access to ongoing resources, industry insights, and continued professional development opportunities. The program also establishes connections with training providers and industry professionals, creating a guided pathway from foundational education to workforce entry.

How it Works
The CDI Gold Path is designed as a structured, step-by-step pathway that supports individuals from initial interest through preparation and into workforce entry. Participants are identified through application, referral, or program partnerships and are provided access to CDI’s knowledge-based ELDT CDL training programs.
Each participant is paired with an industry professional who provides guidance, accountability, and real-world insight throughout the training process. As learners progress through structured coursework, they build the foundational knowledge required for CDL advancement while receiving ongoing support through mentorship and program resources.
Upon completion of the knowledge-based phase, participants are guided toward the next stage of the licensing process through connections with approved training providers and industry opportunities, creating a clear and supported transition into the commercial driving workforce.
